Citron NEO

Download safely

Fake “Citron” and “Citron NEO” sites, APK mirrors, and installers with bundled keys are common. Use this checklist before you run any file.

Official sources only

  • Organization: github.com/citron-neo
  • Tagged releases: citron-neo/emulator/releases
  • CI nightlies: citron-neo/CI/releases
  • This guide site: www.citronneo.org (links GitHub Assets — does not host binaries)

Red flags — do not download

  • Sites that bundle prod.keys, firmware, or ROM packs with the emulator.
  • Random APK stores, “Citron NEO mod” pages, or file hosts not under github.com/citron-neo.
  • Domains that mimic old projects (e.g. dead citron-emu.org links reposted without verification).
  • YouTube or forum links that skip GitHub and point to ad-filled download pages.
  • Installers that ask for unrelated permissions or trigger antivirus on files that did not come from GitHub Assets.

Before you run a file

  1. Confirm the URL is on github.com/citron-neo and you opened Assets on a release page.
  2. Match the asset to your OS and CPU (Windows x64 zip, Linux x86_64 AppImage, etc.) — see All builds.
  3. On Windows, SmartScreen may appear for unsigned builds from GitHub — that is normal if the file is from citron-neo Assets. More info → Run anyway.
  4. If GitHub publishes checksums for a release, compare them before extracting.

If you already downloaded from the wrong place

Delete the file, scan your system if you ran it, and re-download from GitHub only. Do not reuse keys or firmware that came bundled with a third-party installer — obtain them only from hardware you own.

Keys and games

This site never distributes prod.keys, title.keys, firmware, or game ROMs. Any page that offers them alongside a download is not affiliated with citron-neo. See Disclaimer and First-time setup for the legal, in-app path.
