Install on Linux
Match x86_64 or aarch64 to your system. Steam Deck and most PCs use x86_64 (often with a separate x86_64_v3 optimized build).
Open CI releases → Continuous Build (Linux…), or a tagged emulator release.
Under Assets, pick the Linux file for your CPU: AppImage and/or .tar.zst as published. Filenames include
x86_64,x86_64_v3, oraarch64..tar.zst: extract with
taror your file manager. AppImage:chmod +x ./file.AppImageor file properties → allow executing.Run the AppImage or the binary from the extracted folder. If the binary is not executable,
chmod +xwith the real filename.Install distro packages for Vulkan / GPU drivers if the app warns or fails to render. Details vary by distribution — see upstream readme.
When the window opens: keys, firmware, game directories — first-time setup. Steam Deck: see Steam Deck / SteamOS below.
Steam Deck / SteamOS
- Use the x86_64 Linux asset only (not aarch64). ARM64 builds are for other ARM Linux devices.
- Work in Desktop Mode for setup. You can Add to Steam on the AppImage for shortcuts in Gaming Mode.
- If the app never starts, reset user data: see config / portable folder (first-time setup).
- EmuDeck / Steam ROM Manager: point the executable at the same Citron AppImage or binary you downloaded; update the path when you upgrade.

Emulator releases — same flow; pick the Linux asset for your CPU.
